Your afternoon tea is served fresh during the journey, featuring a selection of sandwiches, handmade scones with jam and cream, and a variety of indulgent desserts. Unlimited tea and coffee are included, and the Dalesman also offers a fully licensed bar with wines, beers, gins, cocktails and soft drinks to complement your time on the water.
For guests looking for something different, the Savoury Afternoon Tea introduces a Yorkshire twist to the classic spread. Alongside sandwiches and a fruit scone, you’ll enjoy an award winning pork pie and sausage roll from Stanforth Butchers, served as the Dalesman glides through one of the canal’s most picturesque stretches.
Group Bookings
Groups are warmly welcomed, and private hire is available for parties of thirty or more at no additional charge. Subject to availability, you can enjoy a two hour cruise or upgrade to a three hour sailing for a small additional fee. This option is especially popular with hen groups and birthday celebrations, who can also upgrade to a drinks package to add an extra sparkle to their cruise. Smaller groups can be seated together in their own area, making this experience a flexible and memorable choice for gatherings of any kind.

If you’ve opted for the Savoury Afternoon Tea, you’ll be served a sausage roll and pork pie alongside your sandwiches and scone. Both options come with unlimited tea and coffee throughout your cruise.
The Dalesman also has a fully licensed bar on board, offering wines, beers, gins, cocktails, and soft drinks available to purchase.

Yes. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available when requested in advance. Oat milk is provided, but vegan alternatives for butter or clotted cream are not available, so please get in touch before booking to discuss your needs.

No, dogs are not permitted on the Afternoon Tea Cruise aboard the Dalesman when food is being served. However, service dogs are allowed, so please contact the team ahead of your visit if you need to bring one.

To access the boats, you must go down 4-5 steps, with handrails on both sides. Wheelchair users can be wheeled up to the boat entrance but must be able to manage the steps with assistance if needed. Our staff will do their best to help with boarding and disembarking, and we can provide extra time if necessary. We can also store wheelchairs or walkers safely in our office. Yes. There’s limited parking near the office and boarding point, plus additional spaces about 50 metres away across the canal at the pay-and-display car park.
